By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

We provide a mobile application designed to help learners improve their Arabic language skills.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to operate the App, personalise learning, and improve our services.

A. Information You Provide

Account details: email address, password, and name (optional)
Anonymous account ID: created before you sign up so your progress isn't lost
Learning activity: quiz responses, lesson progress, streaks, vocabulary interactions
Feature requests: if you submit a feature request, we may collect your name, email, and the content of your request
Bug reports: if you submit a report, we may collect device information and the context of the issue

B. Information Collected Automatically

We use analytics tools and service providers to collect:

Device and technical information: device model, operating system, app version, region, and IP address (may be temporarily processed)
Usage data: screen views, navigation, lesson interactions, quiz performance, session duration, and other in-app behaviour
Crash and diagnostics data: via Firebase Crashlytics
Subscription metadata: subscription type, trial status, renewal date, and region (via RevenueCat and app stores)
Push notification tokens: to send you learning reminders (if you enable notifications)

C. Public Features

Some features of the App involve information that may be visible to other users:

Leaderboard

Your display name and weekly XP points may be visible to all users who access the leaderboard. You may choose not to participate simply by not opening the leaderboard feature.

Feature Requests

When you submit a feature request, your display name and request text may be visible to other users. Your real name and email (if provided) are only accessible to administrators and not publicly shown.

Note: When you delete your account, your leaderboard entries and publicly visible content will be removed within 30 days.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and operate the App
Track your learning progress and personalise your experience
Improve lessons, quizzes, and App features
Send reminders and notifications (if enabled)
Manage subscriptions and verify premium access
Respond to support requests, bug reports, or user feedback
Maintain the safety and security of the App

We may also use aggregated or anonymised data for analytics and product development.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share information with:

A. Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate the App, such as:

Firebase (authentication, database, storage, analytics, crash reporting)
RevenueCat (subscription management)
PostHog (analytics and product insights; EU-hosted)
Apple App Store / Google Play Store (payments)
Expo Push Notifications (if you enable notifications)

These providers process data on our behalf and are required to protect it.

B. Legal Purposes

We may share information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users.

5. International Transfers

Your information may be processed outside the United Kingdom depending on where our service providers operate. We use providers that implement appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to:

Provide the App
Maintain your learning progress
Comply with legal obligations
Resolve disputes and troubleshoot issues

Certain data, such as analytics or diagnostic logs, may be retained for a limited period consistent with our service providers' policies.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account directly from the App:

Go to Settings → Preferences → Delete Account
Confirm your password and acknowledge the deletion

When you request account deletion:

Your account will be immediately deactivated and you will be logged out
You will have a 30-day grace period to change your mind
During this period, you can log back in to reactivate your account
After 30 days, all your data will be permanently deleted, including:
- Your profile, email, and account information
- All learning progress (lessons, quizzes, vocabulary)
- Statistics, streaks, and points
- Leaderboard entries
- User-generated content (feature requests visible to you)

Important: If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it separately through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Account deletion does not automatically cancel subscriptions.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your country, you may have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion of your data (available in-app or via email)
Request a copy of your data
Object to certain processing
Withdraw consent (e.g., for marketing emails)

Deleting Your Account: You can delete your account directly from the App under Settings → Preferences → Delete Account. See Section 6 for details about the 30-day grace period.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may notify you in the App.
